ok so i realized tonight that no matter how much i want to deny it and avoid it, SKETCHING before you start the final product is VERY VERY ESSENTIAL!!!
i mean, for illustrations, of course, sketching, yeah, DUH.
but for motion, and storyboards n stuff, i usually do sketch somewhat before i start boarding, but for this particular project i kinda wanted to skip the sketching part for some strange reason and get right into mapping out my boards. i have been stuck for 2 FUCKING weeks and FINALLY gave in and sketched for about an hour. concept problem finally (somewhat) solved. and that wasnt even the harder part...
SIGH...

oh yeah btw i have an interview for internship that i have to leave for in like 2 hours.
wish me luck! although i probably wont end up working there cz i have heard they only give bitch work to their interns.

This term is just crazy. literally.

I've actually been working on a wood lamp for Supersized.
It took a great deal of time producing this one piece, but I had so much fun with it.
I finished Friday and presented it with a "bang"!
puahah jk more like a "click" for the on switch.
Here's the lamp that I designed:

It's made of sandblasted acrylic and oakwood veneer.
I decided to run with the "light" idea for personal reasons and I'm planning on designing more so I'll try to keep ya'llz posted!

Tell me what you think.

i always said that i hated it when people use water color splatters and ink textures n stuff in motion because it's so overdone...
but then i find myself doing it as well... sigh im a sellout lol
but anyway i was experimenting with this shit i guess and i just dropped the acryllic ink straight from the bottle so it was kinda thick in some spots. i was using a heatgun from the modelshop to make it dry faster and the paint kinda melted. looks kinda cool.

maybe i'll post my boards when i'm all done. i'm workin on a set of boards with the theme of "reggae" and how the beats of reggae imitate the heartbeat.

This is an assignment for my fine art class, Rethinking Art, with Tom Laduke (he looks like Moby/ Billy Corgan.) The assignment is to create an unconventional self-portrait. This is a collection of nervousness, doubt, worry, etc. It's a portrait of my flaws - that I think too much.
